Anatomy Of Movement

June 3, 2018 @ 09:00 - 11:00

Anatomy of Movement (part one, the nervous system)

In this workshop we are going to learn the relationship between our musculoskeletal anatomy and the nervous system and how they inform each other. We will start by moving from a cellular level to feel our fascia matrix, and perceive our whole inner and outer structure by using mindful movements as a vehicle with which to appreciate the wonder of the human body. We are going to understand that movement is like a language of basic motor patterns, like the importance to learn how to yield, push, reach and pull. This primal movement patterns can be thought of as neural control programs that can be combined in various ways to generate a large repertoire of movements to interact with our environment, exploring space, contact and playfulness

This workshop will gives us the opportunity to deepen our kinesthetic, or felt sense, and allow us to read the pockets of information that are stored in tense, tired and misaligned muscles. As we start to learn the silent language of the body we will be able to attend to it’s needs and make the necessary changes in order to break old habits or belief systems, which do not serve us and no longer need to be reenacted
